Join Wankinquoah Rod & Gun Club at A.D. Makepeace’s property in Wareham, Massachusetts for the annual Tihonet Pond Fishing Derby, a great day for family, fishing, and fun.

The Derby will be held Sunday, June 3. Check-in begins at 4 a.m. and continues throughout the day. Fishing begins at 6 a.m., weigh-in is from 6 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., raffles, and awards are presented in Box Mill Hall at 2 p.m.

It’s a terrific day, whether you’re a serious fisherman or you just want to enjoy some fun with your kids. It’s amazing to see entire families enjoying the day on the pond.

The derby falls on the Massachusetts Free Fishing Weekend, therefore, fishing licenses are not required to participate. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories for adults and juniors.

This year’s prizes include 10′ Tracker Jon Boat with a Trolling Motor, an Old Town Kayak with Rod Holder, and a Go Pro Camera. The fee is $12 for adults and $3 for children age 14 and younger. The fee includes breakfast. Lunch, snacks, and goodies are available for sale at Makepeace Farms during the event. Be sure to stop in Nemasket Kayak Center to rent a kayak or get some supplies. WRGC will also sell bait onsite during the derby.
